Slovenia's economic sentiment indicator declines in February

February 23 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's economic sentiment index edged down in February by 0.1 of a percentage point (pp) monthly, after rising by 0.3 pp in January, the country's statistical office said on Friday.

On an annual comparison basis, the overall economic sentiment indicator decreased by 1.9 pps in February, after declining by 2.1 pps in January, the statistical office said in a statement.

The decrease was due to the negative impact of confidence indicators in manufacturing, down 0.8 pp, retail trade, down 0.3 pp, construction, also down 0.3 pp and among consumers, down 0.2 pp. Only the influence of the services indicator went up by 1.5 pp.

On an annual basis, indicators in manufacturing went down by 1.8 pps, in construction fell by 0.5 pp, in retail trade decreased by 0.4 pp and in services by 0.2 pp, whereas among consumers it grew 1.0 pp.
