In annual terms, consumer confidence declined by 14 pps in October, the statistical office said in a statement posted on its website.
The monthly increase in the confidence indicator resulted from more optimistic consumer expectations about households’ finances by 6 pps, expectations about the country’s economy, by 1 pps, and on current households’ finances, also by 1 pps. The indicator of expectations about major purchases remained unchanged on a monthly comparison basis.
All four components of the consumer confidence indicator deteriorated at the annual level, with expectations about the country’s economy declining by 16 pps, about households’ finances by 15 pps, about current households’ finances by 15 pps, and for major purchases by 9 pps.
