On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices went up by 0.8% in February, after declining 0.6% in January, the statistical office said in a statement posted on its website.

The greatest impact on the annual inflation, 0.6 of a percentage point (pp), came from 10.9% higher prices in the health group, followed by 0.4 pp of 4.7% higher prices of goods and services in the group housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.

The increase in monthly prices was primarily driven by a 22.2% rise in prices of package international holidays, contributing 0.4 pp to the inflation rate. Additionally, a 0.1 pp increase was attributed to 1.9% more expensive clothing.

Measured with the harmonised index of consumer prices, the annual growth of consumer prices was 3.4% in February.
