Slovenia’s Aerodrom Ljubljana 9-mo Net Profit Falls 37.6%

November 20 (SeeNews) - Aerodrom Ljubljana, the operator of the international airport of Slovenia's capital, on Thursday reported a group net profit of 9.707 million euro ($12 million) in the first nine months of 2008, down from 15.554 million euro in the year-ago period.

Operating revenue through September rose to 31.04 million euro from 38.3 million euro a year earlier, Aerodrom Ljubljana said in its unaudited nine-month financial report filed with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE), where its shares are listed.

The company handled 1,352,189 passengers in the first nine months of 2008, up 14.3% on the year. It handled 13,033 tonnes of cargo through September, down from 15,916 tonnes a year earlier.

Shares in Aerodrom Ljubljana, part of the broader SBI20 index of the LJSE, plunged 12.76% to an average price of 27.82 euro on Thursday amid an overall slump on the market. During the trading session the LJSE temporary expanded to 20% from 10% the price ranges triggering halts in trading in the shares of Aerodrom Ljubljana. The company announced its financial results through September after the end of trading.
