Slovenian Stocks Gain New Ground in Higher Turnover

September 18 (SeeNews) - Slovenian share indices continued climbing for a third trading session running on Friday, as turnover also rose, data of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) showed.

Slovenian Stocks Gain New Ground in Higher Turnover

The blue-chip SBITOP index advanced 1.33% to 1,076.34 points and the broader SBI20 climbed 1.53% to 4,385.21 points.

On Thursday, the SBITOP rose 0.90% and the SBI20 added 0.98%.

Seven of the eight SBITOP components closed higher on Friday.

Only Telekom Slovenije closed lower at 157.98 euro ($232.1) average daily price, losing 0.78%. A total of 979 shares of the telecommunication company changed hands.

Slovenia’s biggest insurer,Zavarovalnica Triglav, led blue chip gainers for a second trading session running, jumping 6.32% to 27.57 euro in a volume of 4,667 shares. On Thursday, Zavarovalnica Triglav stock gained 2.37%.

The most liquid companies on Friday were port operator Luka Koper, part of the SBI20, with 21,726 of its shares changing hands, and blue chip Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor with 17,479 shares traded. Luka Koper stock rose 0.89% to 23.85 euro and the shares of Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor went up by 1.39% to 12.40 euro.

LJSE's total turnover rose to 4.61 million euro from Thursday’s 3.2 million euro.
