The blue-chip SBITOP index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) shed 1.28% to 1.125,88 points and the broader 15-share SBI20 index lost 1.27% to 4.923,16.
Almost all shares lost value, mirroring declines on the European markets, Darko Kovacic, an analyst at Maribor-based Raiffeisen Banka, told SeeNews.
Europe’s major stock indices lost between 2.0% and 4.0% on Wednesday.
“There are not a lot of buyers on the market and the volumes are quite low,” Kovacic said. “Not much is happening on the Slovenian equity market right now.”
All but one of the Ljubljana blue chips retreated. The only advancer was rubber-to-tourism holding company Sava, which gained 1.43% to an average daily price of 266.51 euro on a volume of 223 shares.
The biggest decliner among the SBITOP components was brewer Pivovarna Lasko, which sagged 5.6% to 51.73 euro with 579 shares changing hands.
The most traded share was once again drug maker Krka, which edged down 0.44 % to 65.50 euro on a volume of almost 14,000 shares.
LJSE's total turnover rose to 2.55 million euro ($3.19 million) from 1.72 million euro on Tuesday.
