The blue-chip SBITOP index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) lost 1.96% to 1,236.57 and the broader 15-share SBI20 index was down 1.85% to 5,491.86.
“Investors are indifferent. The investors who are selling are those that need to sell,” the head of the brokerage department of local Abanka Vipa, Tomislav Apollonio, told SeeNews. He added that those investors had bought shares on credit.
“On the other hand, buyers [at the moment] are more or less speculators,” Apollonio said, adding that buyers on the current market are not long-term investors.
Apollonio expects high volatility on the market in the following days. “We will share the fate of global markets,” he added.
Movements on the LJSE have followed trends on global markets in the last few weeks.
