Slovenian Stock Indices Gain Modest Ground

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), September 9 (SeeNews) – Slovenian share indices gained modest ground on Wednesday in higher turnover, data of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) showed.

The blue-chip SBITOP index added 0.42% to 1,032.29 points while the broader SBI20 index rose by 0.55% to 4,175.91 points.

On Tuesday, the SBITOP added 0.15% and the SBI20 fell by 0.05%.

Four of the eight SBITOP components gained ground on Wednesday and the rest ended lower.

Slovenia’s biggest insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav led the advancers, gaining 3.59% to an average daily price of 23.63 euro ($34.22) as 2,577 shares changed hands. The second biggest gainer was rubber-to-tourism holding company Sava, whose shares rose by 1.81% to 14.59 euro in a volume of 200.

Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor, the nation's second biggest lender by assets, was the biggest SBITOP decliner on Wednesday, falling by 0.77% to 11.56 euro as 4,707 shares changed hands. The company was the top blue-chip gainer on Tuesday, adding 1.22%.

Logistics company Intereuropa, part of the SBI20, was the most liquid company, as 241,012 stocks changed hands. Its share price fell by 0.64% to 6.23 euro.

LJSE's total turnover surged to 9.8 million euro from Tuesday’s 1.25 million euro.
