Slovenian stock index rises further

December 19 (SeeNews) - The benchmark index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE), the SBITOP, rose further on Friday amid higher total daily turnover, bourse data indicated.

Slovenian stock index rises further

The SBITOP, which tracks the most liquid and highly capitalised stocks on the LJSE, increased 1.7% to 767.31 points after adding 1.94% on Thursday.

Six of the eight blue chips of the LJSE closed higher, one fell while retailer Mercator [LJE:MELR] ended flat at 72.3 euro ($88.9) on Friday.

Insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav [LJE:ZVTG] was the sole blue-chip decliner, closing 0.82% down at 21.82 euro.

Energy company Petrol [LJE:PETG] led the SBITOP gainers, closing 4.76% up at 287 euro.

Home appliances maker Gorenje [LJE:GRVG] was the most traded blue chip with 15,683 shares changing hands. The stock closed 3.77% up at 5.5 euro.

Total daily turnover on the LJSE rose to 2.3 million euro from 1.9 million euro on Thursday.
