Slovenian stock index falls further, turnover doubles

December 16 (SeeNews) - The benchmark index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE), the SBITOP, fell further on Tuesday as total daily turnover doubled, bourse data indicated.

Slovenian stock index falls further, turnover doubles

The SBITOP, which tracks the most liquid and highly capitalised stocks on the LJSE, declined 1.19% to 751.76 points after losing 1.55% on Monday.

Six of the eight blue chips of the LJSE closed lower, one rose and retailer Mercator [LJE:MELR] ended flat at 72.5 euro ($90.2) on Tuesday.

Home appliances maker Gorenje [LJE:GRVG] led the blue-chip decliners, ending 4.45% down at 5.475 euro.

Telekom Slovenije [LJE:TLSG] was the sole SBITOP gainer, closing 1.42% up at 143 euro.

Drug maker Krka [LJE:KRKG] was the most traded blue chip with 22,906 shares changing hands. Krka closed 1.74% down at 56.6 euro.

Total daily turnover on the LJSE doubled to 2.8 million euro from 1.4 million euro on Monday.
