Slovenian stock index extends gains, turnover down

December 22 (SeeNews) - The benchmark index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE), the SBITOP, extended its gains on Monday amid lower total daily turnover, bourse data indicated.

Slovenian stock index extends gains, turnover down

The SBITOP, which tracks the most liquid and highly capitalised stocks on the LJSE, added 1.16% to 776.18 points after rising 1.7% on Friday.

Seven of the eight blue chips of the LJSE closed higher, while retailer Mercator [LJE:MELR] was the sole SBITOP decliner, closing 0.41% down at 72 euro ($88.9) on Monday.

Insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav [LJE:ZVTG] led the blue-chip gainers, closing 2.2% up at 22.3 euro.

Home appliances maker Gorenje [LJE:GRVG] was the most traded blue chip with 34,420 shares changing hands. The stock closed 1.64% up at 5.59 euro.

Total daily turnover on the LJSE fell to 2.1 million euro from 2.3 million euro on Friday.
