The Slovenian seaports serviced 1,251 passengers in January-March, up from only 33 in the like period of last year, according to data posted on the website of the statistical office.
In March alone, Slovenia's seaports handled 1.7 million tonnes of cargo, down 3.1%, whereas the number of passengers went up to 1,025 from 17.
Koper, with an annual capacity of 18 million tonnes, is the major seaport in Slovenia. Izola and Piran are smaller ports in the country.
