Slovenian hotel Pokljuka starts bankruptcy proceedings - media

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), December 23 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's debt-stricken Sport Hotel Pokljuka, the operator of a mountainous hotel of the same name, has started insolvecy proceedings at the request of its management, local media reported on Tuesday.

The district court in northern Kranj has already appointed  an insolvency administrator, daily Finace said.

The 106-bed hotel on the Pokljuka plateau in the Julian Alps, has operated at a loss for many years. In 2013 the loss amounted to nearly half a million euro and the year before to almost 2 million euro ($2.4million).

Late last year, the company had 890,000 euro long-term and 314,000  euro short-term liabilities towards banks.

The company Sport Hotel Pokljuka is 74% controlled by state-owned company TNP, which is engaged in the development of the Triglav National Park, and the municipalities of Bled, Kranjska Gora, Bovec, Kobarid, Jesenice, Bohinj and Tolmin.
