Slovenian Furniture Retailer Lesnina Plans 10% Rise in 2009 Group Pre-tax Profit

December 18 (SeeNews) - Slovenian furniture retailer Lesnina plans a 10% rise in group pre-tax profit to 21.4 million euro ($31 million) next year on the back of projected higher sales, it said on Thursday.

Group sales are projected to rise by 3.0% on the year to 205.45 million euro in 2009, Lesnina said in a statement to the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE), where its shares are listed.

The company estimates its 2008 group pre-tax profit at 19.5 million euro, up 2.0% year-on-year, with sales seen 13% higher at 198.74 million euro.

Lesnina shares surged 12.29% to an average price of 1,900 euro on the LJSE on Thursday. The company released its statement after the end of trading.
