Slovenian banks 9-mo net profit more than doubles

November 22 (SeeNews) - The net profit of commercial banks in Slovenia rose to 713.7 million euro ($777.4 million) in the first nine months of 2023 from 324.2 million euro in the like period of last year, the central bank said.

The banks' net interest income grew to 1.029 billion euro in the period under review from 505.2 million euro, whereas non-interest income went down 5.9% on the year to 407.9 million euro, Bank of Slovenia said in its monthly report on the performance of the banking sector.

The total gross income of banks in Slovenia grew to 1.437 billion euro in the first nine months from 938.7 million euro, while operating costs increased 7% to 596.5 million euro.

The banks' total assets grew to 51.947 billion euro at end-September, up from 50.575 billion euro at the end of 2022.
