Slovenian banks' 8-mo profit grows 1.3% y/y

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), October 11 (SeeNews) - The combined net profit of Slovenian banks increased 1.3% year-on-year to 314.9 million euro ($372 million) in the first eight months of 2017, the central bank said.

The Slovenian banks' net interest income decreased 4.8% on the year to 430.4 million euro in the eight-month period, while net fees and commissions income remained unchanged at 208.6 million euro, the Bank of Slovenia said in a monthly report.

The banking sector's total gross revenue fell by an annual 4.5% to 742.3 million euro in the eight months through August, while operating costs edged down 0.3% to 433.8 million euro.

Slovenian banks' total assets increased to 37.3 billion euro as at end-August, up by 271 million euro compared to end-2016.
