LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), December 10 (SeeNews) – Slovenia recorded a trade deficit of 200.6 million euro ($221.9 million) in the first ten months of 2019, compared to a surplus of 390.1 million euro in like period of last year, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Exports rose to 28.2 billion euro in January-October, 9.4% higher than a year earlier, while imports increased by 11.6% to 28.4 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in the first ten months of 2019, absorbing 20.9 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 20.8 billion euro of Slovenia's imports.
In October alone, Slovenia recorded a trade deficit of 103.4 million euro, as exports rose 7.1% on the year to 3.1 billion euro while imports expanded 7.6% to 3.2 billion euro.
