The 80-km transmission line will be part of the power infrastructure linking Croatia, Slovenia and Hungary, and will raise the reliability of the Slovenian electricity system, its transmission network and import transmission capacities, the government said in a statement.

Slovenian power grid operator Eles in July hired a consortium comprising the Slovenian unit of Croatian power transmission equipment manufacturer Dalekovod and local company C&G for the execution of construction works, supply and installation of steel structures and execution of electrical installation works on the Cirkovce-Pince project.

The works are expected to be completed by December 2022, Eles has said. They include the construction of a 400/110 kV substation.
