Slovenia also posted the highest monthly growth in construction output in the EU and among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE), for which data is available, at 7.4%, Eurostat said in a data release on Monday.
Romania, on the other hand, registered the steepest monthly decline in construction production in the bloc in September, at 1.9%.
Elsewhere in SEE, Bulgaria's construction output fell by 1.8% year-on-year and slipped by 0.4% in monthly terms.
In the EU overall, construction production inched up by an annual 0.1% and added 0.5% month-on-month in September.
