November 7 (SeeNews) - Slovakia-based low-cost air carrier SkyEurope and Italian peer MyAir's owner Flyholding said on Friday they have signed an agreement to sell each other's products and use each other's aircraft and airport facilities.

Slovakia's SkyEurope, Italy's MyAir Join Forces To Share Services

SkyEurope and MyAir are two of the major players on the Romanian low-cost air travel market.

The partnership aims at achieving an operational synergy and an economy of scale on the markets where the two companies are present, the two companies said in a joint statement. Economies of scale are the cost advantages that a firm obtains thanks to expansion.

Regarding their Romanian operations, SkyEurope will offer MyAir's flights between Bucharest and Milan, Venice, Bologna, Rome, Bari, Naples and Catania. The Italian company will provide to its customers SkyEurope's routes between Bucharest and Vienna, Naples, Milan and Venice.

The two companies are also present in Romania's southern neighbour Bulgaria.
