Siniat Romania plans new gypsum board plant – media

“We reached an agreement with the Turceni energy complex, which will provide the raw materials for the plant, and this is the reason for us to consider this investment,” financial daily Ziarul Financiar (ww.zf.ro) quoted Siniat Romania director general Marc-Andre Fritsche as saying.

Belgium's Etex group, which controls Siniat Romania, will finance the plant's construction. The investment is estimated at tens of millions of euro, the daily said.

The plant is scheduled to start operations in the beginning of 2015 at the earliest.

Siniat Romania, formerly Lafarge Arcom Gips, reported a turnover of 22.6 million euro ($29.2 million) in 2011 and projects a slight increase for this year, Ziarul Financiar said.

Siniat runs a gypsum board production site in Bucharest and a plant for plasters and coatings in the northwestern county of Cluj. Some 35% of total output is exported.
