October 27 (SeeNews) - The shares of Slovenia’s third largest bank by assets, Abanka Vipa, closed higher after making their debut on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) on Monday, brokers said.

Shares of Slovenia’s Abanka Vipa Rally in Bourse Debut

“Abanka closed quite positively [...] It started at 45 euro, fell to 40 euro in mid-day and closed at 50 euro,” Bine Pangrsic, an analyst with local brokerage house Medvesek Pusnik, told SeeNews. “Abanka surprised me today,” he added.

Abanka Vipa achieved an average price of 44.50 euro ($55) on Monday.

Pangrsic said there was room for a downward adjustment in the lender's share price.

Shares of the country’s second largest bank by assets, Nova Kreditna Banka Maribor (NKBM), plunged 8.36% to an average price of 13.81 euro on the LJSE on Monday when the blue chip SBITOP index sank 6.38% to close at 1,089.50 points.
