November 13 (SeeNews) - Serbian state-owned textile firm Yumco will open a new factory in Bosnia in December, it said.
The inauguration of the factory, which will initially employ some 100 people, will take place on December 20, Yumco said in a statement on Tuesday.
The statement was issued following a visit paid by Serbian defence minister Aleksandar Vulin and the leader of Bosnia's Serb Republic governing party SNSD, Milorad Dodik, to the construction site of the future factory in the western municipality of Drvar, which is more than 90% populated by Bosnian Serbs.
The investment was agreed during a visit of Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic to Drvar in September.
Last year, Yumco opened two new factories in Serbia - one for personal protective equipment in the eastern town of Resavica and another one making uniforms for the Serbian army and police in the southern town of Bujanovac.
