Serbia's restaurant, hotel prices rise 9.3% y/y in Jan

February 21 (SeeNews) - Prices in Serbia's restaurants and hotels rose by an annual 9.3% in January and were up 1.4% from a month earlier, data from the country's statistics office showed.

In annual terms, the cost of non-alcoholic beverages marked the highest increase, of 10.9%, in the first month of the year, followed by the cost of food with a 9.4% rise, the statistics office said in a statement earlier this week.

In monthly terms, prices of overnight accommodation rose most, by 3%, in January.

In December, Serbia's restaurant and hotel prices increased 8.5% on the year and were 0.4% higher than in November. Prices in the hospitality sector went up by an average 14.2% in 2023.
