The retail park will cover an area of 9,000 square metres and will host local and international brands from various industries such as food, clothing, sports equipment, while also housing a children's playground, the city authorities said in a statement on Tuesday.
The value of the investment was not disclosed.
Works on the project are expected to be completed by the end of the year when Penta Park will open doors to customers. Some 130 people are expected to find employment in the retail park, the statement read.
Prokuplje mayor Miroslav Antovic said in the statement that some twenty companies have already signed contracts to launch operations in the retail park.
Belgrade-based Penta Development was established in June 2023. It is fully-owned by local engineering and design company Penta Ge.Co. Construction, data from Serbia's business registry showed.
