The factory will also assemble the Nora self-propelled howitzer.
Jugoimport normally works for well-known customers and does not keep goods in stock, thus what other weaponry and vehicles will be produced at the factor in Velika Plana, central Serbia, will depend on customer orders, an unnamed official told Blic (www.blic.rs).
The plans for the military factory were revealed as early as March when Velika Plana agreed with Jugoimport to convert the service station used by local machine builder Gosa into a production site for military vehicles and weapons, Blic noted. Later, defence minister Aleksandar Vucic said in November that Serbia was on track to open a factory for APCs in Velika Plana in partnership with Russia, mostly for export to Kenya and Bangladesh.
