Serbia's jobless numbers fall by 2.4% m/m in Oct

October 18 (SeeNews) - The number of unemployed people in Serbia went down by 2.4% compared to the previous month and was 13% lower than a year earlier, data from the country's national employment service showed.

Unemployment

Unemployed people in October numbered 427,000, compared to 438,000 in September and 482,000 in October 2021, the national employment service said in a statement posted on its website earlier this week.

There were 46,000 unemployed persons in the 15-24 age group in October, 51% of whom were women.

Most of the registered unemployed were highly skilled and skilled people, 65%.

The lowest numbers of unemployed persons were recorded in the IT and health sectors - 17,700 and 17,200, respectively.

Serbia has a population of around 6.8 million, according to an estimate by the national statistics office made in July.
