Serbia's January-September Trade Gap Widens 42.2% to $9.387 Bln

October 31 (SeeNews) - Serbia's trade deficit for the first nine months of 2008 rose by 42.2% year-on-year to $9.387 billion (7.285 billion euro), the country’s statistics office said on Friday.

Exports through September were 36.4% higher on the year at $8.672 billion, while imports rose by 39.3% to $18.059 billion, the statistics office said in a statement.

In September alone, Serbia's trade balance showed a deficit of $1.028 million, up from $800 million a year earlier.

Serbia's trade deficit rose by 41.2% to $9.526 billion last year.
