Serbia's January-October Trade Gap Widens 36% to $10.4 Bln

November 28 (SeeNews) - Serbia's trade deficit for the first ten months of 2008 rose by 36% year-on-year to $10.4 billion (8.1 billion euro), the country’s statistics office said on Friday.

Exports through October were 33% higher on the year at $9.552 billion, while imports rose by 35% to $19.954 billion, the statistics office said in a statement.

In October alone, Serbia's trade balance showed a deficit of $1.004 million, down from $1.046 million a year earlier.

Serbia's trade deficit rose by 41.2% to $9.526 billion last year.
