November 14 (SeeNews) - Serbia's consumer prices rose by 15% year-on-year in October, after growing by 14% the previous month, the statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Serbia's consumer price index (CPI) went up by 1.9%, after rising 1.5% in September, the statistical office said in a statement on Monday.
By category, the biggest price increases in annual terms were observed in food and non-alcoholic beverages, 22.9%, rent, water and energy, 17.9% and in restaurants and hotels, 20.7%.
On a monthly comparison basis, prices of restaurants and hotels rose by 4.1%, food and non-alcoholic beverages added 3.5%, and rent, water and energy climbed by 1.5%.
In light of the recent inflationary pressures, Serbia's central bank increased its key repo rate by 50 basis points to 4.5% last week.
