On a monthly comparison basis, Serbia's consumer price index (CPI) went up by 1.5%, after rising 1.2% in August, the statistical office said in a statement on Wednesday.
By category, the biggest price increases in annual terms were observed in food and non-alcoholic beverages, 20.4%, rent, water and energy, 17.2% and in restaurants and hotels, 16.4%.
On a monthly comparison basis, prices of rent, water and energy rose by 3.8%, restaurants and hotels added 3.7% and food and non-alcoholic beverages climbed by 2.4%.
In light of the recent inflationary pressures, Serbia's central bank increased its key repo rate by 50 basis points to 4% last week.
