Construction, industry, road infrastructure, tourism, ICT and business services, are key areas of the economy that are expanding, prime minister Ana Brnabic was quoted as saying in a press release on Friday.

Brnabic noted that the tourism industry is experiencing significant growth, which is primarily reflected in the increased number of foreign tourists, and that it has great potential for further development.

In the fourth quarter of 2023, Serbia's economic output grew by a real 3.8% year-on-year, after increasing by an annual 3.6% in the previous quarter.

In 2023, the Serbian economy expanded by an estimated 2.5% at constant prices, equal to the revised growth rate recorded in 2022, the country's statistical office said earlier this month, quoting preliminary data.
