Serbia's Erste Bank Novi Sad 9-mo net profit falls 14.5%

November 4 (SeeNews) - Serbian lender Erste Bank Novi Sad recorded a net profit of 1.92 billion dinars in the nine months through September, down 14.5% from 2.24 billion dinars in the like period of last year, the bank said on Friday.

Net interest income in the January-September period grew 10.4% to 7.38 billion dinars, while net fee and commission income increased 52.7% to 2.44 billion dinars, Erste Bank Novi Sad said in a statement.

The non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of the bank stood at 2.5% at the end of September, Erste Bank Novi Sad said.

Customer loans in the review period increased by 5.5% on the year to 110.92 billion dinars, while deposits amounted to 124.3 billion dinars, up 1.2% on the like period of last year.

The total assets of Erste Bank Novi Sad rose to 344 billion dinars at the end of September from 320 billion dinars in the first nine months of last year.

Erste Bank Novi Sad is part of Vienna-based Erste Group, which serves around 16 million clients in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia.
