May 7 (SeeNews) - Serbian insurer Dunav Osiguranje [BEL:DNOS] said it will pay a gross dividend of 51.64 dinars ($0.48/0.44 euro) per share from its 2023 profit.
The company's shareholders decided on April 25 to pay out as dividend a total of 784.4 million dinars, Dunav Osiguranje said in a filing with Serbia's central securities depository and clearing house last month.
The insurer has not yet published its financial statement for 2023. According to its latest available financial report, its net profit more than doubled to 932 million dinars in January-June, from 429 million dinars in the like period of 2022.
In 2022, Dunav Osiguranje's net profit fell to 1.28 billion dinars from 2.52 billion dinars in 2021.
According to Belgrade bourse data, the insurer last distributed dividend in July 2023, paying a net amount of 28.81 dinars per share. Its equity is divided into 15,189,202 shares of 652 dinars in nominal value each.
The Serbian government controls 76.7% of Dunav Osiguranje, the state shareholding fund Akcionarski Fond holds 3.6%, while the remainder belongs to smaller shareholders.
In the third quarter of 2023, Dunav Osiguranje remained the largest insurer by premium income among twenty active insurers in Serbia. Dunav's share in total premium was 25.9% in July-September. It was followed by Generali with 19.4% and DDOR with 11.1%, latest available central bank figures showed.
