The size of the investment in the solar panels factory, the first in Serbia, was not disclosed.

Approached by SeeNews on Wednesday for information on the planned investment amount and production launch date, a company official declined comment.

The factory and an adjacent warehouse will spread over 1.2 hectares close to the Belgrade-Nis motorway, the Velika Plana government said in a notice on the city website last month.

According to the Serbian business registry, electrical equipment maker DoMi Eko - Solar is owned by four separate entities. Belgrade-based Udarnik gradnja and Inzenjering DM invest based in Smederevska Palanka jointly own 52% of its capital, whilst individual investors Dragan Rajovic and Marija Milicevic hold 24% each.

The company was founded in July with a capital of 2.36 million dinars ($19,700/20,100 euro).
