BELGRADE (Serbia), October 7 (SeeNews) – The Belgrade Stock Exchange (BELEX) will change the way it calculates closing share prices as of Wednesday in a bid to curb drastic market oscillations, it said on Tuesday.

Serbia's Bourse To Change Calculation of Closing Share Prices

Due to reduced liquidity in the securities market and the negative impact of the global financial crisis on the local market the BELEX will set the closing prices it publishes as the average of all transactions in the session, not only the average of the trades in the last 30 minutes, the bourse said in a statement.

Serbian share indices plunged on global panic on Tuesday, notching up their worst showing in the history of the BELEX, brokers said. The blue-chip BELEX15 index sank 10.29% to 804.40 points. The broader BELEXline dropped 6.73% to 1,670.02, while the joint SRX index of the bourses in Belgrade and Vienna plunged 12.1% to 431.54 points

The Belgrade share indices tumbled on Monday with the BELEX 15 index sinking 8.09% to 896.69. The BELEXline dropped 5.49% to 1,790.55, while the SRX plunged 10.74% to 490.97.
