September 30 (SeeNews) - Serbia's August industrial output fell by 4.4% on the year after increasing by an annual 5.4% in July, the country's statistics office said on Tuesday.

The August industrial output was 4.6% lower than last year's average, the office said in a statement posted on its website. In July, output was 3.7% higher than the 2007 average.

In the first eight months of 2008, industrial production grew by 3.1% on the year.
