Month-on-month, Serbia's August consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.4% after falling by 1.1% in July, it said in a statement.
The statistics bureau started calculating Serbia's CPI in January 2007, seeking to make the measuring of Serbian inflation comparable with the harmonised inflation index used in the European Union. Before 2007 the statistics office used to release only data about changes in retail prices.
