Serbian transport min says China's Sinohydro eyes local rail projects

November 30 (SeeNews) - China's Sinohydro is interested in projects for the construction of new and the upgrade of existing railway infrastructure in Serbia, the transport ministry of the Balkan country said on Friday.

Sinohydro is interested in sections of the local stretch of pan-European transport Corridor X and if an agreement is reached, works could get underway in March, Serbian transport minister Milutin Mrkonjic said in a statement issued after he met in Belgrade with a delegation from the Chinese company.

Sinohydro has set up an office for the European market in Belgrade, an indication it plans to rack up a large number of contracts over the coming years, the statement said.
