Serbian Stocks Extend Losses, Turnover Slumps

BELGRADE (Serbia), December 9 (SeeNews) – Serbian share indices fell further on Wednesday in halved turnover, Belgrade stock exchange data showed.

Serbian Stocks Extend Losses, Turnover Slumps

The bourse's blue-chip BELEX15 index lost 1.54% to 665.71 points after backing off 2.77% on Tuesday.

The broader BELEXline shed 1.24% to 1,293.49 points on Wednesday after falling 1.98% in the previous trading session.

The joint SRX index of the bourses in Belgrade and Vienna dropped 0.42% to 298.07 on Wednesday.

Total turnover on the BELEX plunged to 29 million dinars ($448,200/303,500 euro) from 72 million dinars on Tuesday. Almost 15 million dinars of Wednesday’s total came from trading in government bonds versus 26 million dinars on Tuesday.

Shares of blue-chip engineering holding group Energoprojekt lost 4.54% to 799 dinars in the day’s highest turnover of 1.9 million dinars.

Blue chip AIK Banka followed with the second largest turnover of 1.6 million dinars. Its stock dipped 1.80% to 2,571 dinars

Blue-chip engineering and telecommunications company Telefonija led decliners, plummeting 10.49% to 1,656 dinars in a volume of 30 shares.

Cigarette producer DIN led advancers, soaring 9.05% to 2,891 dinars as of its 100 stocks were traded.

Decliners outnumbered gainers 25 to 10, while the shares of 22 companies ended flat on Wednesday.
