October 23 (SeeNews) - Finnish venture capital fund Icebreaker has led a seed round into Serbian start-up Quantastica, the Serbian company said.
"We are proud to announce closing of our seed round led by Icebreaker to help us bridge the gap between classical and quantum computing. Big thanks to all who supported us from early beginnings and to our code contributors!" Quantasitca said in a Twitter post on Tuesday.
According to Serbian media reports, the investment into Quantastica amounts to 200,000 euro ($222,400).
"The investment will help Quantastica advance and commercialise its products and position itself in the emerging quantum computing market that is expected to explode in the next few years. Also, it is important to note that Finland subsidises start-ups with attractive amounts and it is my decision to choose Icebreaker," news portal StartIt quoted the founder of Quantastica, Petar Korponaic, as saying.
Quantastica is the developer of Quantum Programming Studio, a web-based graphical user interface for designing quantum algorithms and executing on simulators or on real quantum computers.
