September 18 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government plans to invest 700 million dinars ($7 million/5.87 million euro) in the construction of road infrastructure in the Kolubara, Zlatibor and Macva districts along the Drina river by the end of 2017, infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic has said.

A total of 1.7 billion dinars was invested in the expansion of the road infrastructure in the area in the last three years, Mihajlovic said during a meeting of president Aleksandar Vucic with representatives of municipalities located along the river, according to a government press release issued on Sunday.

The government intends to build a bridge across the Drina river at the Bajina Basta-Skelana crossing on the border with Bosnia, while the reconstruction of the Valjevo-Loznica road will begin shortly as its project and technical documentation has already been completed, Mihajlovic said.

Representatives of the municipalities of Osecina, Mali Zvornik, Ljubovija, Krupanj and Bajina Basta, as well as the mayors of Valjevo and Loznica, were present at the meeting, the government said.
