Serbia to deregulate household power supply from Jan 1 - media

December 26 (SeeNews) - Serbian households will be able to change their power supplier from January 1, marking the completion of the deregulation of the country's electricity market, local media reported on Friday.

Households will have the right to contract their supply of electricity on the free market, but would not be obliged to do so, news agency Beta reported, adding that only 44 of the 84 companies licensed to supply power at non-regulated tariffs in Serbia are active and only three of those supply end customers.
