Serbia November inflation slows to 11.9% y/y

BELGRADE (Serbia), December 12 (SeeNews) – Serbia’s annual inflation slowed down to 11.9% in November from 12.9% a month earlier, the country's statistics bureau said on Wednesday.

On a monthly basis, Serbia’s consumer prices index (CPI) remained unchanged in November after gaining 2.8% in October, the statistics bureau said in a statement.

The greatest price increases in November compared with October were recorded in the following sectors: communication (2.9%); clothing and footwear (1.4%); furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance and restaurants and hotels (by 0.8% each); housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.6%) and education (0.5%). Decreases in prices were registered in transport (-1.1%) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.7%).

Serbia's average annual inflation accelerated to 11% in 2011 from 6.5% a year earlier.
