This will encompass extending the runway, the construction of a path to a platform intended for parking two planes, as well as a terminal building that will enable the exchange of passengers in accordance with international airport standards, news website krusevacgrad.rs reported.
The project also includes the construction of telecommunications and signalling systems as well as an access road to the airport.
Serbia has invested around 340 million dinars ($3.2 million/2.9 million euro) in the construction of the runway over the past two years, having built a runway, taxiway, hangar, and auxiliary runways.
Construction of the airport began in June 2017, and the facility opened in June 2022. It is located 2 km south of Krusevac and handles cargo aircraft.
