“Having in mind the possible effects from the global financial crisis on potential investors we thought it will be best to extend the deadline,” Tanjug quoted the government's representative in the project, Igor Arandjelovic, as saying.
Austria's Immorent, Serbia's Energoproject and Germany's Eureal have expressed interest in the project so far.
The government-appointed tender commission has also lowered the participation guarantee that bidders should pay to 1.5 million euro from two million euro.
In Septmeber, Serbia invited potential co-investors to file bids until November 7. Private firms will finance the construction of all buildings in the Jabucko Ravniste resort in eastern Serbia. The ownership of the buildings will be shared between the state and the co-investor.
A total of 156 million euro should be invested in the construction of hotels with more than 5,000 beds, entertainment and recreation facilities over the next three years under the government project. A further 50 million euro should be invested in skiing facilities and a stil further 30 million in infrastructure.
