September 17 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government said it approved the signing of a 606 million euro ($714 million) agreement with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) for the construction of the Fruskogorski Corridor road.
The project will be financed through a loan from the Export-Import Bank of China approved by the lender a month ago, infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic said in a press release on Wednesday.
The preparation of the documents for the project will be completed by the end of 2020 and construction works are expected to start next year, Mihajlovic added.
The Fruskogorski Corridor project represents an upgrade of the Novi Sad-Ruma section of Serbia's IB-21 state road. It will link European transport corridors X and IV on the territory of Serbia's northern autonomous region of Vojvodina.
