Internet access is crucial for people to return to Serbia and stay in smaller towns, Brnabic said in a press release.

In December 2022, Serbia launched a project worth 500 million euro ($540.3 million) to build broadband infrastructure in the country's rural areas.

The share of Serbian households with access to the Internet stood at 85.6% at the end of October 2023, according to data from the national office for statistics.
