October 24 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipping company Jadroplov [ZSE:JDPL] said on Monday it took delivery of liquefied petroleum gas LPG tanker Marko Marulic built by Japan's Sasaki Shipbuilding.

The vessel will make its first commercial voyage on October 25, from South Korea to China, Jadroplov said in a filing to the Zagreb bourse.

The ship has a capacity of 7,500 cbm and operational speed of 13 knots.

The value of the ship was not disclosed in the filing, but according to information published earlier on Jadroplov's website, the majority state-owned company has signed a contract with Swiss company Irus Holding to buy the LPG ship for just over $25 million (25.4 million euro). It is Croatia's first LPG ship and the sixth vessel in the company's fleet.

Jadroplov will finance some 35% of the cost of the purchase, or some $8.8 million, with own funds and will provide the remainder with a loan from state-owned Croatian development bank HBOR, the minister of sea, transport and infrastructure, Oleg Butkovic, said earlier this month.

Jadroplov's shares traded at 2.78% lower at 70 kuna ($9.14/9.29 euro) intraday on the Zagreb bourse.
