September 5 (SeeNews) - Most indices on Bosnia and Herzegovina's Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) advanced in August as total turnover dropped to 8.2 million marka ($4.2 million/4.2 million euro), compared with 77.8 million marka generated in July, the bourse said on Monday.
A total of 429,550 shares changed hands in 317 transactions on the bourse in August, the SASE said in a monthly trading update.
In August 2021, total trading turnover on the SASE came in at 2.5 million marka.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the SASE closed August 2022 at 1,039.03 points, up 1.77% compared with its value at the end of July.
The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, edged up 1.94% month-on-month in August, to 1,723.39 points.
The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, was 0.71% lower on a monthly comparison basis at the end of August, at 825.94 points.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI of SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI) closed at 11,649.89 points at the end of August, up 0.43% month-on-month. The index tracks 25 companies.
SASE's total market capitalisation amounted to 5.9 billion marka in August, up from 5.68 billion marka at the end of the previous month.
Arms manufacturer Igman Konjic [SAJ:IGKC] generated the highest trading turnover among the SASE-listed companies in August. Its shares changed hands in 2 transactions worth a total of about 2.9 million marka. The company's shares last traded on the bourse on August 30, closing flat at 158 marka.
The SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The country's other bourse, the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE), is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
